March 1877 From Olympia, Washington Territory
Caroline Cadhill needs to run and has a place to go that no one would know about. Even her brother, unless he finds the note she'd left behind. Regina caught my attention immediately with the first line of this story. If she had to marry a stranger, she'd picked a pretty place to do it. Can you imagine having to marry someone you only know through letters? Sight unseen? Well, Caroline has to face that situation; desperation can do that to a person!

SUDDEN MAIL ORDER BRIDE IS the start of a new series, but also the introduction to the family of a former hero from Regina's Book 4, FRONTIER MATCHES Series called THE SCHOOLMARM'S CONVENIENT MARRIAGE. To have a new series linked to an older one, with some favorite characters peeking in, or even—as in this case—mentioned, makes me feel like I've not lost the connection with former stories and endearing characters. Do you feel the same? If a series has twenty books with the same characters, well, I'm a happy camper! Camping out to read, that is.

How this story rolls out on the pages, the marvelous characters that make me laugh, catch me in a detail of their maturity or where they need to grow as a person, as well as the ever-looming danger, kept this reader anticipating what would happen next. Don't you just love a story that makes you want to think, feel, and aim higher for your life? Maybe that's what makes fiction so vibrant and entertaining in my life.

I love the undercurrent tension of mystery squatters and rustic farm life where the Willets family worked and played together. The late 1800s is an interesting time with a lot going on. I enjoy stepping my imagination into a simpler time with different yet relatable dangers and challenges. And there are always the fun individuals that fill the pages of Regina's novels.

I was given a copy of
SUDDEN MAIL ORDER BRIDE for an honest review, and so reader, there you have it!
