About the Author

Susan Marlene is a wife, mom, grandma, and former Teacher's Aide who adores her family, friends, and furballs. One of her favorite past times is plotting dreadful difficulties for her characters and then witnessing their misdirected and clever attempts to escape. Time spent dallying in her imagination and research works as an elixir. Her mind races multiple historical periods at-the-same-time while fueling her belief that each person's timeless significance is indisputable. For this reason, Susan also writes devotions and nonfiction, where she mixes serious, humorous, and thought-provoking situations that she hopes will provide an ah-ha in her readers experience. She is a member and co-founder of Pens of Praise Christian Fiction Writers.

Future novels that I’m working on are Sisters and Secrets Book 2 of HEARTS FOREVER FAITHFUL. Natalie Lawton’s curious guests staying at her B&B may be more unwelcome than she could ever imagine. Secrets seem embedded in the very walls of her Victorian-style home. Looks like she will need a hero that she wasn’t looking for.

Beacon House Daughter’s Mysteries, book one--untitled as yet--is an exciting venture into my 1880s cozy murder mystery series. Magnolia Beacon would rather not take this adventure so crucial to her family. And she isn’t the only one who thinks that way. The murderer is getting nervous with her poking around and feels the need to murder again.

CHRISTMAS IN KNOTS is an 1870 historical novella set in Bangor, Maine. Confirmed bachelorette Elise Devonshire finds her purpose in organizing the Bangor Children’s Home’s 1870 Quilting Event until all could upend before her. Unwelcome suitors appear on the horizon of her uncertain future.

"Hope" is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all,  by Emily Dickinson
