May 2019—such a lovely and busy month, so filled with goals and deadlines. (At least for this teacher’s aide by day and writer by night.) Only my ability to write ended one night as I left Facebook and entered my email. The cursor on my computer screen disappeared! Maybe the batteries in my mouse died? But alas, the keys on my Surface computer had also quit responding. This computer was only three years old. Much too expensive to not work for me for the next 20 + years—wouldn’t that be reasonable? Okay, that’s humorous. Computers never last that long, do they! 😊
There is more to this message, which I'd sent out in August. This is the mere beginning of a newsletter, while below is a full sample of what my readers receive. DANGERS OF AN INCREASINGLY STRESS-FREE LIFE
Doing life is not always simple. Many situations, challenges, and trials are unavoidable. Scores of us may be addicted to the rhythm of stress and upheaval, which may cause us to forget how to jump off the hamster wheel. Still there is hope for those seeking peace and a calmer existence. When we think past lies claiming that such relief is boring or impossible to obtain, a victory is scored! So, go ahead and pour yourself a coffee or tea and settle into a comfortable chair and turn on negative news—oh, maybe not! Let’s consider the dangers of an increasingly stress-free existence.
A study titled ‘“Local and Nonlocal Effects of Coherent Heart Frequencies on Conformation Changes of DNA” showed that thinking and feeling anger, fear, and frustration caused DNA to change shape…DNA responded by tightening up and becoming shorter, switching off many DNA codes, which reduced quality expression.” (1) That is some pretty heavy information, but the good news is that we have a choice. Think about it, what do we lose by deciding to live happier lives and maintaining a positive focus? So, the next time—and there will be a next time—that challenges and temptations replay that long list of negative thinking which links you with: anxiety, nervousness, fear, impatience, and restlessness, choose to detoxify your mind. Like Pollyanna (A Disney movie from long ago.) she chose to look for good in every situation. Don’t sigh with anxious frustration. Respect yourself enough to allow peace and rest to cushion your schedule, reverse your thoughts from negative to positive, and aide your health to flourish. But if you need that rush of negative adrenaline to provide a get-started-kick to begin your day—then you will not want to walk the way of peace and calm. Accepting the positive view point that aims your attention toward finding more benefits and opportunities will diminish the tyrants of fear, worry, and impatience. If you like to live life on the edge the pursuit of happiness is not for you. Applying positive thoughts—not fake hopes, but those real advantages that arise out of our difficulties—can endanger dramatic lifestyles. Such changes in thinking may catapult you into new and better situations! Be aware, those are some of the dangers of an increasingly stress-free life! For those who wish for change there is so much more that Dr. Caroline Leaf presents in her book. Care for any light reading? My publishing and personal news: In April, I’m pleased to announce that I’d been invited to share my story Whispers at a symposium for The Novice publication at Silver Lake College on Thursday, April 25. My husband and I have been married for 39 years on Friday, April 26! Also, on April 27 my devotion Many More Things was published online by www.ChristianDevotions.us. The Novice publication will be made available online in the near future, but as for now, I don’t know of a specific date. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as I write this news letter. I carry a great hope that you will come away filled with encouragement and decidedly determined to meet your challenges. I for one am taking up the gauntlet of positive pursuits! Feel free to share this newsletter with friends. I will send out the free short story to you shortly! I look forward to hearing back from you via email or on my website www.susanmarlene.com. Remember TIMELESS SIGNIFICANCE FOR EVERY DAY is about your future and mine. Sincerely, Susan Marlene |
